THIS BENCH TESTS THE PIPING SYSTEM FOR THE TANKS OF THE FIRST HYDROGEN FUEL CELL-POWERED PASSENGER TRAIN TO RUN IN FRANCE!

DAM GROUP SELECTED BY CAF REICHSCHOFFEN PLANT

With over 35 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of high-tech leak test benches, DAM has been chosen by CAF, one of the world leaders in integrated rail systems, as a key supplier, meeting the requirements and specifications demanded by its customer, and offering even greater functionality.

This “Standard” test facility has one main function, which requires a high degree of expertise and know-how when it comes to handling hydrogen: a high-pressure leak test of the hydrogen tank filling systems on the train’s drive units.

According to SNCF Voyageurs (the National French Railway Company), the first test runs of the hydrogenpowered TER (regional express train), developed by the ALSTOM-CAF consortium, are scheduled for early 2024. Commercial circulation is planned for the end of 2025 and will cover four major regions: Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Grand Est and Occitanie.

This new order is part of DAM’s ambitious goal to become the European leader in hydrogen test benches by 2025.

“DAM would like to thank all CAF teams for their trust in the realization of this project. We are proud to be working with them to reduce emissions in the French rail sector.” said Pierre PACOT, Sales Manager at DAM Group.
